In addition to serving on the Young Children, Priority One Committee of the Downtown Indianapolis Kiwanis Club, Steve has volunteered one hour a week in the classroom at Charity Dye Elementary School (IPS #27) for the past fourteen years.  The photos show Steve and his daughter Katy, a former Silver Creek employee, celebrating the end of the school year with the children in the preschool class.  Their teacher, Kimberly Boulden, and Cynthia Holt, teaching assistant, joined in the fun.
As structural engineers, we recognize how important it is to begin with a strong foundation.  This is true for buildings and it's true for lives.  That's why Silver Creek Engineering supports Steve Kessinger's participation as chair of the Young Children, Priority One Committee of the Downtown Indianapolis Kiwanis Club.  In that role, Steve has facilitated grants for the Preschool and Kindergarten classes at Charity Dye Elementary School (IPS #27).  Pictured above are Charity Dye Principal Jacqueline Berry, Steve, and Teachers Angela Lively and Mardina Blake after a check was presented to the school at the March 20th, 2009 Downtown Kiwanis meeting.

Dear Kiwanis Members:
We at Charity Dye Elementary School, Indianapolis Public School #27, would like to thank Kiwanis member Mr. Steve Kessinger of Silver Creek Engineering for volunteering at our school for the past 14 years.  He is a wonderful role model for the staff and students.  He reads stories, tutors students, and helps with projects the students are completing.  It is a joy to have him at our school.
We would also like to thank the entire Kiwanis Club for the grant money you have given to our Preschool and Full Day Kindergarten classrooms.  We are grateful to be able to purchase materials to promote reading readiness, reading and math skills.
The goal of our school is to advance the reading and math skills of all our students.  Thank you again for
your kindness.

Sincerely,
Jacqueline Berry, Principal
