Structural BIM Technician

We know how valuable your skills are and we have created this position to invest in a BIM technician committed to achieving high standards of work on a wide variety of projects within the structural engineering field.

Overview:

The CAD Technician has drafting/modeling education and/or previous experience and is able to complete routine assignments with minimal supervision by applying standardized drafting practices and techniques.  This individual is able to identify problems as they arise and call them to the attention of the project manager or engineer.  New aspects of projects will continue to require supervision and direction from the project manager as the individual's drafting skills and knowledge are further developed.  The Structural BIM Technician's tasks include, but are not limited to:  structural/site drafting; Revit/AutoCAD design and revision; field measurements and construction observation.

Compensation and Benefits:

  1. Starting hourly rate, based on experience and qualifications: $22/hour - $28/hour, plus benefits

  2. Overtime (excess of 40 hours in a week) is available, but never mandatory, and is paid at 150% of your regular hourly rate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. AutoCAD/Revit:  Creates and edits drawings using AutoCAD and Revit software.

  2. Drawing Review:  Reviews own work and shop drawing review as requested.

  3. Field Work:  May visit project site to record measurements and/or observe conditions.  May visit construction site to observe compliance with design documents when appropriate.

  4. Client/Consultant Contact: Occasionally communicates with clients or consultants as needed in order to complete assignments or respond to questions.  Files permits on behalf of clients when appropriate.

  

Qualifications:

A minimum of three years of related work experience or graduation from an accredited post-secondary program in CAD, drafting technology, design technology, or related field.
