CAD Technician/Designer

Overview:

The CAD Technician has previous drafting experience and is able to complete routine assignments with minimal supervision by applying standardized drafting practices and techniques.  This individual is able to identify problems as they arise and call them to the attention of the project manager or engineer.  New aspects of projects will continue to require supervision and direction from the project manager as the individual's drafting skills and knowledge are further developed.  The CAD Technician's tasks include, but are not limited to:  structural/site drafting; AutoCAD/Revit design and revision; field measurements and construction observation.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. AutoCAD/Revit:  Creates and edits drawings using AutoCAD and Revit software.

  2. Drawing Review:  Reviews own work and shop drawing review as requested.

  3. Field Work:  May visit project site to record measurements and/or observe conditions.  May visit construction site to observe compliance with design documents when appropriate.

  4. Client/Consultant Contact: Occasionally communicates with clients or consultants as needed in order to complete assignments or respond to questions.  Files permits on behalf of clients when appropriate.

  

Qualifications:

A minimum of three years of related work experience or graduation from an accredited post-secondary program in CAD, drafting technology, design technology, or related field.
