The Restoration of the West Baden Springs Hotel

This article, which describes the structural challenges faced in the restoration of the iconic West Baden Springs Hotel, appeared in the September 2007 issue of Structure Magazine.  Silver Creek Engineering provided structural engineering services for the restoration, which began with stabilization in 1996 and culminated in the Grand Opening of the world-class hotel in 2007.  The author, Graeme Sharpe, was a staff engineer at Silver Creek Engineering at that time, where he worked as a team member on the last phase of the West Baden Springs Hotel restoration.
